It is a symbol of peace and prosperity built by a Japanese Buddhist in 1991 as a part of the Peace Pagoda Mission. It also houses the relics of the Buddha at its base. Now, a major portion of the palace is in a dilapidated state. Hemis National Park:

Established in 1981, it’s named after the 400-year-old monastery called the Hemis Gompa. This national park is the abode to the highest number of snow leopards in the world.
