New Delhi

New Delhi is the capital city of India and the starting point of our 17 days journey. This city has many historical monuments, cultural sites and temples. You will explore the famous Qutub Minar, India Gate, Red Fort, Laxmi Narayan Temple, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial and Rashtapati Bhavan. Visit Old Delhi and stroll through Chandni Chowk and spice market. Varanasi

It is one of the oldest cities in the world and an important spiritual center in India. Varanasi is located on the banks of holy Ganges River. Here, you will visit attractions including Chaudkhandi, Dhamek Stupa, Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple, Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Dharmarajika Stupa. In the evening, attend Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat. You will also enjoy a half day tour of Sarnath where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon after attaining enlightenment. In Varanasi, travelers will also enjoy a morning boat ride on the River Ganges to witness the mesmerizing sunrise.

Bodhgaya

Bodhgaya is a sacred destination for Buddhists. It is the place where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment under the Bodhi Tree. Kolkata

Darjeeling

Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1 Arrival At New Delhi +

Begin your tour with your arrival at Delhi. Our representative will pick and you and transfer you to your booked accommodation. On arrival check into the hotel and rest for a while. Freshen up and in the evening walk through the busy local markets of the capital city or you can spend your day at leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel in Delhi.

DAY 2 At New Delhi +

Begin your tour with a visit to the famous Qutub Minar which is an 11th century monument. Head to visit some of the other attractions like India Gate, President’s House, Red Fort, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial, Laxmi Narayan Temple. Proceed to see Old Delhi where you will visit Chandni Chowk, Spice Market and enjoy the local delicacies of the city. Return back to the hotel for overnight stay.

DAY 3 New Delhi -Flight- Varanasi +

After breakfast take flight to Varanasi and on arrival, you will get transferred to the booked hotel. Later in the afternoon proceed for half day tour of Sarnath where Buddha preached his first sermon in the Deer Park. Visit other attractions like Dharmarajika, Chaukhandi and Dhamek Stupa. Later in the evening enjoy Ganga Arti at Dashashwamedh Ghat. Return back by evening for overnight stay.

DAY 4 At Varanasi +

Begin your day with an exclusive morning boat ride on the River Ganges and witness the beautiful sunrise. Later get driven to Kashi Vishwanath Temple which is a 18th century temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Situated on the western banks of the Holy River Ganga, this temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas that has been spread across the country. You will then proceed to visit Tulsi Temple where Tulsidas, a popular Indian poet wrote epic Ramacharitramanas in the 16th Century. Visit Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple that is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. Later get ready to enjoy visually appealing Ganga Arti that is performed every day at the Dashashwamedh Ghat. It is truly a divine experience to witness the aarti where you will hear the sound of the bells, priests saying the Sanskrit mantras etc. Return back to your hotel by evening and overnight stay at Varanasi.

DAY 5 Varanasi - Bodhgaya (251 Kms / Approx 07 Hrs. Drive) +

After breakfast, drive to Bodhgaya and on arrival, check in and refresh yourself. Rest of the day is for leisure. Overnight stay at Bodhgaya.

DAY 6 At Bodhgaya +

Today after breakfast, proceed for guided tour to Bodhgaya and visit Mahabodhi Temple, Sujata Village, Niranjana River and monasteries. Overnight stay at Bodhgaya.

DAY 7 Bodhgaya - Nalanda - Rajgir - Patna (194 Kms / Approx 07 Hrs. Drive) +

Today after breakfast, drive to Patna and enroute visit Rajgir and Nalanda. Visit Gridhakut, World Peace Stupa, Venuvanaram and Bimbisar Prison at Rajgir. Later after lunch, drive to Nalanda where you will be visiting the ruins of world ancient University. On arrival at Patna, check in at the hotel and rest of the day is for leisure. Overnight stay at Patna.

DAY 8 Patna -Flight- Kolkata +

After breakfast, get transferred to Patna airport and board the flight to Kolkata. On arrival, check in at the hotel and rest of the day is for leisure. Overnight stay at Kolkata.

DAY 9 At Kolkata +

Today after breakfast, proceed for full day tour of Kolkata where you will visit places like Victoria Memorial Palace, Science City, Metro Rail, Belur Math, China Town, Mother Teresa Home. Return back by evening for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 10 Kolkata -Flight- Bagdogra - Darjeeling (68 Kms / Approx 03 Hrs. Drive) +

After breakfast transfer to the airport from where you will board flight to Bagdogra. On arrival, meet our guide who will transfer you to Darjeeling. Rest of the day is for leisure. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

DAY 11 At Darjeeling +

Early morning visit Tiger Hills to catch the view of sunrise over Kanchenjunga Peak. Later drive back to the hotel and enroute visit Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop. After breakfast, proceed for guided tour of Darjeeling where you will visit places like Japanese Temple, Peace agoda, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park and Himalyan Mountaineering Institute. Return back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 12 Darjeeling - Pelling (74 Kms / Approx 03 Hrs 30 mint. Drive) +

Today after breakfast, drive to Pelling and on arrival, check in to the hotel. Rest for a while and later proceed for guided tour of Pelling where you will visit places like Rimbi Falls, Sacred Khecheopalri Lake, Kanchendzonga Falls, Rimbi Rock Garden, Pemayangtse Monastery. Return back after the tour for dinner and overnight stay at Pelling.

DAY 13 Pelling - Namchi - Gangtok (151 Kms / Approx 06 Hrs.Drive) +

After breakfast, drive to Gangtok and enroute visit Namchi, Samdruptse Hill and Char Dham. On arrival at Gangtok, check in at the hotel for overnight stay.

DAY 14 At Gangtok +

Enjoy your breakfast and proceed for guided tour of Gangtok where you will visit Hanuman Tok, Ganesh Tok & Tashi View Point, Rumtek Monastery or Banjhakri Water Falls, Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom. Rest of the day is at leisure and overnight stay at Gangtok.

DAY 15 Gangtok - Kalimpong (74 Kms / Approx 3 Hrs 30 mint. Drive) +

After breakfast, drive to Kalimpong and on arrival check in at the hotel. Rest for a while and proceed for half day sightseeing tour which includes places like Kalimpong Durpin Dara (view point), Zang Dhok Palri Phodang, Flower & Orchid Nurseries, Deolo Hills. Overnight stay at Kalimpong.

DAY 16 Kalimpong - Bagdogra (77 Kms / Approx 03 Hrs.Drive) - New Delhi (By Flight) +

Today after breakfast, get transferred to Bagdogra airport and from there board flight to Delhi. On arrival, check in at the hotel and rest of the day is for leisure. Overnight stay at Delhi.

DAY 17 Departure from New Delhi +

We booked a trip to Ladakh based on positive reviews on tripadvisor. It was a personal 7 nights 8 days trip. They asked us our preferences and came up with an itinerary and price with 3 or 4 star hotel options. The trip included leh, pangong tso, shyok,nubra valley, turtuk, alchi and travelling through high altitude snowy passes khardungla and changla and kargil (we added kargil). We went late june early july. It was beautiful and flowers were starting to come up, and also snowmelts. A bit scary in shyok as the road in places disappeared and we drove over stones and through water for a few kilometres. We saw marmot, wild donkey and free horses, yak and several birds. The mountains are majestic. The altitude does make you a bit breathless, none of us had any health condition and we felt it. Our local contact in leg provided by traeminent tours advised us on altitude sickness and he emphasised several times on contacting him if we ever felt unfortable beyond the usual symptoms, how much and when to sleep. We followed his instructions carefully. We also took diomax for tge altitude breathlessness the first night which helped but it makes you thirsty and gives you a headache so we stopped taking it after. For our stay in Pangong tso our Leh person Gurmeet told us to take an oxygen cylinder reason being its higher altitude and there are no hospitals. An oxygen cylinder has 3 hours worth of oxygen should you need to drive to a hospital. We considered the Rs 2,500 an insurance and we did feel more breathless at pangong. While we could have managed without oxygen the oxygen did help ease the tightness in our chest (maybe coming from hot humid sea level singapore we took probably longer to adapt). We chose the 3 star option and did not regret it. Most cases the rooms were spacious and had great views. At pangong tso we asked to upgrade to a room with a view for an additional Rs 6.6k per person we were 3, sharing a room so we paid Rs 19.8k we felt was steep but were told taxes are high and dinner was included. Our Rs 51k per person for the trip included an excellent calm careful and informative driver Jimme and a sturdy spacious vehicle, breakfast and in two places dinner. Jimme's playlist is also great so after our trip we asked him for it. We saw beautiful monastries at Alchi, Lamayuru, Diskit, moonland the impressive Indus, Shyok and Suru rivers which we drove along. Jagmohan our tour coordinator was helpful and accommodating of our requests to add Kargil. Over all an excellent trip and we were glad we chose Traeminent.  July, 2026

It's was a pleasant trip. 6 days and 5 nights - 3 couple. Cover kochi, Kollam and alappuzha boat house. The driver was good and helpful.
