DAY 1 Delhi to Amritsar By Train (Departure at 0720am- Arrival at 1345pm) +

You will be picked up from your hotel and later transferred to railway station from where you will board train to Amritsar. The distance from Delhi to Amritsar is approximately 6 hours and traveling in a train offers ultimate experience that will be cherished for a long time. Savour delicious breakfast and snacks on the way and by afternoon arrive at Amritsar. On arrival, meet our guide who will transfer you to your booked accommodation where you will have time to relax. Amritsar is known for its spiritual and cultural center for the Sikh religion and is the second largest town in Punjab. In the evening you will be visiting Golden Temple that glows in the dar and sparkles in the waters around it. Devotees from all over the world visit this iconic religious site and make the most of the trip. This religious place has some charming places to eat and is a paradise for foodies. When at Golden Temple, you cannot miss the delicious Langar that is served at their community kitchen. After the tour, return back to your hotel for overnight stay.

DAY 2 Amritsar Local Sightseeing + Wagah Border Excursion +

Today after breakfast, head for sightseeing tour of Amritsar. The Golden Temple, not with its elegance standing at night, is equally magnificent and charming during the day. See the reflection of this magical temple in its huge, consecrated pool wrapped in a series of marble walkways. Enjoy the architecture of this religious site and savor langar at the community kitchen. Continue your tour with visit to Jalianwala Bagh which is a famous tourist attraction in Amritsar. The Vaisakhi festival in Jallianwala Bagh garden was peacefully celebrated by men, women and children in the thousands at this somber location in 1919 and this when the British soldiers gunned down 379 and 1000 people. This massacre changed India's landscape in terms of politics, and was a major contributing factor to India's end of colonial rule and independence. You will then proceed to Wagah Border where you can witness the famous flag lowering ceremony which is also popularly known as the Beating Retreat Border Ceremony that takes places every evening before sunset. The Indian Border Security Force and the Pakistani Ranger have observed this military practice on a daily basis since1959. The Wagah border parades on both sides that once was the only road to both countries are fast and a sight to behold. With tall, commanding figures the soldiers from Pakistan and India conduct every mission in perfect unison. The infantrymen are vigilant, gates are opened, and the flags of both nations are lowered, all together exactly as the sun sets. Return back to your hotel by the end of the day for overnight stay.

DAY 3 Amritsar to Delhi (Depart at 0455am- 1100am Arrival) Departure +

Today you will leave early morning departure from Amritsar to Delhi where your tour will come to an end. You will be dropped back at the Delhi airport for your onward journey.

We booked a trip to Ladakh based on positive reviews on tripadvisor. It was a personal 7 nights 8 days trip. They asked us our preferences and came up with an itinerary and price with 3 or 4 star hotel options. The trip included leh, pangong tso, shyok,nubra valley, turtuk, alchi and travelling through high altitude snowy passes khardungla and changla and kargil (we added kargil). We went late june early july. It was beautiful and flowers were starting to come up, and also snowmelts. A bit scary in shyok as the road in places disappeared and we drove over stones and through water for a few kilometres. We saw marmot, wild donkey and free horses, yak and several birds. The mountains are majestic. The altitude does make you a bit breathless, none of us had any health condition and we felt it. Our local contact in leg provided by traeminent tours advised us on altitude sickness and he emphasised several times on contacting him if we ever felt unfortable beyond the usual symptoms, how much and when to sleep. We followed his instructions carefully. We also took diomax for tge altitude breathlessness the first night which helped but it makes you thirsty and gives you a headache so we stopped taking it after. For our stay in Pangong tso our Leh person Gurmeet told us to take an oxygen cylinder reason being its higher altitude and there are no hospitals. An oxygen cylinder has 3 hours worth of oxygen should you need to drive to a hospital. We considered the Rs 2,500 an insurance and we did feel more breathless at pangong. While we could have managed without oxygen the oxygen did help ease the tightness in our chest (maybe coming from hot humid sea level singapore we took probably longer to adapt). We chose the 3 star option and did not regret it. Most cases the rooms were spacious and had great views. At pangong tso we asked to upgrade to a room with a view for an additional Rs 6.6k per person we were 3, sharing a room so we paid Rs 19.8k we felt was steep but were told taxes are high and dinner was included. Our Rs 51k per person for the trip included an excellent calm careful and informative driver Jimme and a sturdy spacious vehicle, breakfast and in two places dinner. Jimme's playlist is also great so after our trip we asked him for it. We saw beautiful monastries at Alchi, Lamayuru, Diskit, moonland the impressive Indus, Shyok and Suru rivers which we drove along. Jagmohan our tour coordinator was helpful and accommodating of our requests to add Kargil. Over all an excellent trip and we were glad we chose Traeminent.  July, 2026
