Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1 Cochin +

Arrive at Cochin and meet our representative who will meet and greet you at the airport. Get transferred to your booked hotel. Get ready to explore the beautiful city of Cochin. Head to visit the famous Chinese fishing nets, St.Francis Church, Jewish Synagogue, Dutch Palace, Mattancherry, Fort Kochi Area. Explore the spice market where you can find numerous samples of spices, out in the open. By evening get ready to enjoy the Kathakali show performance that will lend you insight into the cultural side of the state.

DAY 2 Cochin-Munnar (130 Kms / Approx 05 Hrs. Drive) +

Today after breakfast drive to Munnar which is a beautiful hill station of Kerala. On arrival, check into the hotel and rest for a while. You can later visit aromatic tea plantations or indulge in sport activities like paragliding. Overnight stay at Munnar.

DAY 3 Munnar +

Today after breakfast, proceed to sightseeing tour of Munnar. Visit popular places like Tea Museum, Munnar Tea estate, Mattupetty Dam, Eravikulam National Park. Overnight stay at Munnar.

DAY 4 Munnar-Thekkady (91 Kms / Approx 03 Hrs 30 Mint. Drive) +

Enjoy your breakfast and head to Thekkady which is situated in the Western Ghats in Kerala. On arrival, check into the hotel and begin your day with a boat ride in Lake Periyar. The best thing to do in Lake Periyar is boat ride that takes you through the lush greenery of the region. You will get a unique opportunity to view colourful birds, elephants, deer and boars quenching their thirst at the river banks. Later come back to hotel for overnight stay.

DAY 5 Thekkady-Kumarakom (124 Kms / Approx 04 Hrs. Drive) +

Munch in your breakfast at the hotel and later proceed to Kumarakom which is your next stop on this luxurious tour to Kerala. On arrival check into the hotel. In the evening proceed for bird watching tour where you will get to see wetland birds. Enjoy the sunset with a soothing music and stay overnight at the hotel.

DAY 6 Kumarakom-Alleppey (34 Kms / Approx 01 Hrs 30 Mint. Drive) +

DAY 7 Alleppey - Kovalam (159 Kms / Approx 04 Hrs 30 Mint. Drive) +

Check out from the houseboat and get transferred to Kovalam. On arrival, check into the hotel and rest of the day is for leisure. Overnight stay at Kovalam

DAY 8 Kovalam +

Today after breakfast, head to explore the beaches of Kovalam and make the most of the trip. Return back to the hotel for overnight stay.

DAY 9 Kovalam - Kanyakumari - Kovalam (86 Kms / Approx 03 Hrs. One Way Drive) +

After breakfast, drive to Kanyakumari which is a 3-hours drive from Kovalam. On arrival, head to visit some of the popular temples and beaches of the region. Enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the region and return back to Kovalam for overnight stay.

DAY 10 Departure +
Today you will leave for the airport and your tour will come to an end. From there board flight for your onward destination.

We booked a trip to Ladakh based on positive reviews on tripadvisor. It was a personal 7 nights 8 days trip. They asked us our preferences and came up with an itinerary and price with 3 or 4 star hotel options. The trip included leh, pangong tso, shyok,nubra valley, turtuk, alchi and travelling through high altitude snowy passes khardungla and changla and kargil (we added kargil). We went late june early july. It was beautiful and flowers were starting to come up, and also snowmelts. A bit scary in shyok as the road in places disappeared and we drove over stones and through water for a few kilometres. We saw marmot, wild donkey and free horses, yak and several birds. The mountains are majestic. The altitude does make you a bit breathless, none of us had any health condition and we felt it. Our local contact in leg provided by traeminent tours advised us on altitude sickness and he emphasised several times on contacting him if we ever felt unfortable beyond the usual symptoms, how much and when to sleep. We followed his instructions carefully. We also took diomax for tge altitude breathlessness the first night which helped but it makes you thirsty and gives you a headache so we stopped taking it after. For our stay in Pangong tso our Leh person Gurmeet told us to take an oxygen cylinder reason being its higher altitude and there are no hospitals. An oxygen cylinder has 3 hours worth of oxygen should you need to drive to a hospital. We considered the Rs 2,500 an insurance and we did feel more breathless at pangong. While we could have managed without oxygen the oxygen did help ease the tightness in our chest (maybe coming from hot humid sea level singapore we took probably longer to adapt). We chose the 3 star option and did not regret it. Most cases the rooms were spacious and had great views. At pangong tso we asked to upgrade to a room with a view for an additional Rs 6.6k per person we were 3, sharing a room so we paid Rs 19.8k we felt was steep but were told taxes are high and dinner was included. Our Rs 51k per person for the trip included an excellent calm careful and informative driver Jimme and a sturdy spacious vehicle, breakfast and in two places dinner. Jimme's playlist is also great so after our trip we asked him for it. We saw beautiful monastries at Alchi, Lamayuru, Diskit, moonland the impressive Indus, Shyok and Suru rivers which we drove along. Jagmohan our tour coordinator was helpful and accommodating of our requests to add Kargil. Over all an excellent trip and we were glad we chose Traeminent.  July, 2026
