Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1 Cochin – Arrival +

Arrive at Cochin and meet our representative who will meet and greet you at the airport. Check-in at the hotel. Day kept free for leisure. In the evening,. optional Kathakali Dance Show. Overnight stay at hotel in Cochin.

DAY 2 Cochin – Sightseeing +
Wake and enjoy a delicious morning breakfast, Later, head to visit the famous Chinese fishing nets, St.Francis Church, Jewish Synagogue, Dutch Palace, Mattancherry, Fort Kochi Area. Overnight stay at hotel in Cochin.
DAY 3 Cochin – Athirapally (By Road: 1.5 Hours Drive) +
In the morning after breakfast, proceed to cover the next amazing destination Athirapally, also called the Niagara Falls of India. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel. Head to visit the popular Charpa Falls, Vazhachal Waterfalls and Athirapally waterfalls. Overnight stay at hotel in Athirapally.
DAY 4 Athirapally – Munnar (By Road: 4 Hours Drive) +

Today after early breakfast, checkout from the hotel and drive to Munnar. Enroute, enjoy the beautiful views of Cheeyappara, Valara faterfalls and the widespread lush green tea meadows. On reaching, check-in at the booked Hill Resort. Spend the day at leisure or enjoy famous Ayurveda massage (own cost). Overnight stay at hotel in Munnar.

DAY 5 Munnar – Sightseeing +
After breakfast, get ready to visit the famous places in Munnar covering the Mattupetty Dam, Tea Estates, Echo Point, Spice plantation, Rose Garden, Blossom Garden Photo Point, Honey Bee Tree, Tea Museum etc. You can also opt for boating in the Lake, rock climbing, trekking (at own cost). Overnight stay at hotel in Munnar.
DAY 6 Munnar – Periyar (By Road: 4 Hours Drive) +

Enjoy your breakfast and drive to Periyar. On arrival, check into the hotel and rest for a while. Periyar is set amidst the Western Ghats in Kerala and is known for its rich biodiversity and natural vistas. Overnight stay at Periyar.

DAY 7 Periyar – Sightseeing +

Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel and begin your day with a boat ride (at your own coast) in Lake Periyar. Next, you can choose to go on a jeep safari (own cost) or go for an elephant safari (own cost). You can also enjoy other activities (at own cost) such as elephant rides, jungle walk, bamboo rafting to keep you fascinated all day long. Overnight stay at hotel in Periyar.

DAY 8 Periyar – Alleppey (By Road: 4 Hours Drive) +

Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel and leave for a day cruise to Alleppey. Admire the beautiful view of the backwaters of Kerala that is sure to refresh your mind and body. It is an excellent opportunity to get a closer look at the beauty of the land and learn about the village people. Watch the green paddy fields, canoes, thatched-roof houses and canoes while on your day cruise. Enjoy lunch, evening snacks at the day cruise and make the best of the trip. Overnight stay at Alleppey Houseboat.

Note: The Cruising time is from 12 Noon to 05.00 pm and after that, the houseboat will be parked at one place as per Govt Rules.

DAY 9 Alleppey – Varkala (By Road: 3 Hours Drive) +

After breakfast, check out from the houseboat at 09.00 AM. Proceed to Varkala. On reaching, check in at your hotel. Day spent at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel in Varkala.

DAY 10 Varkala – Kovalam (By Road: 1 Hour Drive) +

Wake up and enjoy breakfast. Checkout from the hotel. Head for Varkala sightseeing covering visits to the Varkala Beach, Edava Beach, Anjengo Fort, Thiruvambadi Beach and Sivagiri Mutt. Later, drive to Kovalam. Overnight stay at hotel in Kovalam.

DAY 11 Kovalam – Leisure +

Wake up and enjoy breakfast. Checkout from the hotel. Drive to Kovalam. Spend the day with relaxing time at the Kovalam beach. Overnight stay at hotel in Kovalam.

DAY 12 Kovalam – Kanyakumari Excursion (By Road: 2.5 Hours Drive) +

After breakfast, proceed to Kanyakumari city tour visit Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Thiruvalluvar Statue, and Kanyakumari Bhagavathy Temple. Overnight stay iat hotel in Kovalam.

DAY 13 Kovalam – Trivandrum (By Road: 15 minutes Drive) – Departure +
Enjoy breakfast at leisure. Checkout from the hotel followed by direct transfer to Trivandrum Airport to board flight back home.

We booked a trip to Ladakh based on positive reviews on tripadvisor. It was a personal 7 nights 8 days trip. They asked us our preferences and came up with an itinerary and price with 3 or 4 star hotel options. The trip included leh, pangong tso, shyok,nubra valley, turtuk, alchi and travelling through high altitude snowy passes khardungla and changla and kargil (we added kargil). We went late june early july. It was beautiful and flowers were starting to come up, and also snowmelts. A bit scary in shyok as the road in places disappeared and we drove over stones and through water for a few kilometres. We saw marmot, wild donkey and free horses, yak and several birds. The mountains are majestic. The altitude does make you a bit breathless, none of us had any health condition and we felt it. Our local contact in leg provided by traeminent tours advised us on altitude sickness and he emphasised several times on contacting him if we ever felt unfortable beyond the usual symptoms, how much and when to sleep. We followed his instructions carefully. We also took diomax for tge altitude breathlessness the first night which helped but it makes you thirsty and gives you a headache so we stopped taking it after. For our stay in Pangong tso our Leh person Gurmeet told us to take an oxygen cylinder reason being its higher altitude and there are no hospitals. An oxygen cylinder has 3 hours worth of oxygen should you need to drive to a hospital. We considered the Rs 2,500 an insurance and we did feel more breathless at pangong. While we could have managed without oxygen the oxygen did help ease the tightness in our chest (maybe coming from hot humid sea level singapore we took probably longer to adapt). We chose the 3 star option and did not regret it. Most cases the rooms were spacious and had great views. At pangong tso we asked to upgrade to a room with a view for an additional Rs 6.6k per person we were 3, sharing a room so we paid Rs 19.8k we felt was steep but were told taxes are high and dinner was included. Our Rs 51k per person for the trip included an excellent calm careful and informative driver Jimme and a sturdy spacious vehicle, breakfast and in two places dinner. Jimme's playlist is also great so after our trip we asked him for it. We saw beautiful monastries at Alchi, Lamayuru, Diskit, moonland the impressive Indus, Shyok and Suru rivers which we drove along. Jagmohan our tour coordinator was helpful and accommodating of our requests to add Kargil. Over all an excellent trip and we were glad we chose Traeminent.  July, 2026
