Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1 Arrival At Chennai +

On arrival, meet our guide who will transfer you to your booked hotel. Later enjoy tour of Chennai where you will visit Marina Beach that provides stunning views of sunrise and sunset. Nest head to visit Fort St. George which was built in the year 1640 AD by the British East India Company. Visit St. Mary’s Church that is situated within the fort. Later visit National Art Gallery that was established in the year 1857 and is one of the country’s finest museums. Head to visit Kapaleshwar Temple is situated in Mylapore and is devoted to Lord Shiva. Overnight stay at Chennai.

DAY 2 Chennai - Mahabalipuram (54 Kms / Approx 01 Hrs 30 mint. Drive) +

After breakfast, leave for Mahabalipuram. Upon arrival, check in to the Hotel. Sightseeing tour of Mahabalipuram where you will visit some of the popular attractions like Panch- the five rathas, Arjunas Penance which is a masterpiece carved out in the mid 17th century, witness the Mahasura Mandapam Which is a rock cut cave temple that dates back to the late 17th century, shore temple which is a UNESCO World Heritage site dating back to the 8th century. Next visit Krishnas Butter Ball which is a gigantic rock of granite weighing more than 250 tons. After the sightseeing tour, return back by evening and overnight stay at Mahabalipuram.

DAY 3 Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry (96 Kms 02 Hrs. Drive) +

Today after breakfast, drive to Pondicherry and on arrival, check into the hotel and rest of the day is for leisure. Overnight stay at Pondicherry.

DAY 4 Pondicherry Sightseeing +

Munch in your breakfast and head for sightseeing tour of Pondicherry where you will visit few places like Aurobindo Ashram which is a spiritual community founded by Sri Aurobindo, drive past the Seaside promenade which is a 1.5 km long stretch along the ocean. Head to visit Pondicherry Museum which is a treasure trove of rare bronze and stone sculptures from the Pallava and Chola dynasties. Evening will be at leisure and overnight stay at Pondicherry.

DAY 5 Pondicherry - Chidambaram-Kumbakonam- Thanjavur (189 Kms / Approx 05 Hrs 30 Mint. Drive) +

Enjoy your breakfast and drive to Thanjavur which was once the time capital of Chola Dynasty. En-route visit Chidambaram and have darshan at Nadarajar temple. Afterwords proceed to Kumbakonam, evening visit to Thiruvidaimaruthur Mahalinga Swamy temple, Thirunageshwaram Rahu temple, Oppiliappan temple and Alangudi Guru temple. Continue your drive to Thanjavur. Check in andOvernight stay at Thanjavur.

DAY 6 Thanjavur +

Begin your sightseeing tour of Thanjavur where you will visit popular places like Brihadeshwara Temple which is an 11th-century temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Next head to visit Thanjavur Palace which is locally called Aranmanai and is the residence of the Bhosle family that ruled Thanjavur from 1674-1855. Later visit Sivaganga Fort and the art gallery. Overnight stay at Thanjavur.

DAY 7 Thanjavur- Madurai (190 Kms / Approx 03 Hrs 30 MInt. Drive) +

Today after breakfast, drive to Madurai and on arrival, check into the hotel and rest of the day is for leisure. Overnight stay at Madurai.

DAY 8 Madurai Sightseeing +

After breakfast, head for sightseeing tour of Madurai where you will visit popular attraction like Meenakshi Temple-one of the largest temple complex built between 16th and 18th centuries, Tiruparankundram Murugan Temple which is one of the 6 abodes or holy shrines of Lord Murugan, Palamuthirsolai Murugan Temple- it is one of the 6 holiest Murugan shrines. Later in the evening, return back to Meenakshi Temple to witness the Aarti ceremony. Overnight stay at Madurai.

DAY 9 Madurai- Ooty (303 Kms / Approx 07 Hrs 30 Mint. Drive) +

After breakfast, drive to Ooty and on arrival, check into the hotel. Rest of the day is for leisure. Overnight stay at Ooty.

DAY 10 Ooty +

Enjoy sumptuous breakfast and proceed for local sightseeing tour of Ooty. Situated on the Blue Mountains at an altitude of 2240 metre above the sea level. Also known as the Queen of Hill stations, Ooty is a famous tourist’s spot where you can relax amidst the nature and high mountains. This beautiful hill station is blessed with vast expanses of tea gardens, dense forests, sprawling grasslands and lofty mountains that are sure to make your stay memorable and worthwhile. DAY 11 Ooty- Mysore (125 Kms / Approx 04 Hrs. Drive) +

Today after breakfast, depart for Mysore by road and on arrival check into the hotel. In the afternoon, proceed for local sightseeing tour of Mysore. A calm and serene city, Mysore is a famous tourist attractions situated just 144 km from Bangalore. The city was known as the imperial capital of the erstwhile Mysore Kingdom ruled by then Wodeyar dynasty. You can head for city tour that includes grand Mysore Palace, Chamarajendra Art Gallery, Mysore Zoo Gardens, St. Philomena’s Church, Chamundi Hills Brindavan Gardens and Bylakuppa. Return back by evening for overnight stay.

DAY 12 Mysore- Bangalore (145 Kms / Approx 04 Hrs 30 mint. Drive) +

Have your breakfast and drive to Bangalore. On arrival, check into the hotel and rest for a while and get ready to embark on an amazing sightseeing tour of Bangalore. The capital city of Karnataka, Bangalore is known as the city of gardens and a popular tourist attraction in India. The main interest here includes Lalbagh Gardens, Vidhana Soudha, Cubban Park and Museum, Cariappa Memorial Park, Tippu’s Palace, Bull Temple, Venkatappa Art Gallery etc. Return back by evening and overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 13 Bangalore +

We booked a trip to Ladakh based on positive reviews on tripadvisor. It was a personal 7 nights 8 days trip. They asked us our preferences and came up with an itinerary and price with 3 or 4 star hotel options. The trip included leh, pangong tso, shyok,nubra valley, turtuk, alchi and travelling through high altitude snowy passes khardungla and changla and kargil (we added kargil). We went late june early july. It was beautiful and flowers were starting to come up, and also snowmelts. A bit scary in shyok as the road in places disappeared and we drove over stones and through water for a few kilometres. We saw marmot, wild donkey and free horses, yak and several birds. The mountains are majestic. The altitude does make you a bit breathless, none of us had any health condition and we felt it. Our local contact in leg provided by traeminent tours advised us on altitude sickness and he emphasised several times on contacting him if we ever felt unfortable beyond the usual symptoms, how much and when to sleep. We followed his instructions carefully. We also took diomax for tge altitude breathlessness the first night which helped but it makes you thirsty and gives you a headache so we stopped taking it after. For our stay in Pangong tso our Leh person Gurmeet told us to take an oxygen cylinder reason being its higher altitude and there are no hospitals. An oxygen cylinder has 3 hours worth of oxygen should you need to drive to a hospital. We considered the Rs 2,500 an insurance and we did feel more breathless at pangong. While we could have managed without oxygen the oxygen did help ease the tightness in our chest (maybe coming from hot humid sea level singapore we took probably longer to adapt). We chose the 3 star option and did not regret it. Most cases the rooms were spacious and had great views. At pangong tso we asked to upgrade to a room with a view for an additional Rs 6.6k per person we were 3, sharing a room so we paid Rs 19.8k we felt was steep but were told taxes are high and dinner was included. Our Rs 51k per person for the trip included an excellent calm careful and informative driver Jimme and a sturdy spacious vehicle, breakfast and in two places dinner. Jimme's playlist is also great so after our trip we asked him for it. We saw beautiful monastries at Alchi, Lamayuru, Diskit, moonland the impressive Indus, Shyok and Suru rivers which we drove along. Jagmohan our tour coordinator was helpful and accommodating of our requests to add Kargil. Over all an excellent trip and we were glad we chose Traeminent.  July, 2026

It's was a pleasant trip. 6 days and 5 nights - 3 couple. Cover kochi, Kollam and alappuzha boat house. The driver was good and helpful.
