Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1 Arrival in Chennai (Flight) +
Welcome to India. On arrival in Chennai, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to the hotel. Check-in and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay in Chennai.
DAY 2 Chennai Sightseeing +
Enjoy your breakfast and get ready for a sightseeing tour. Visit St. Mary's Church, Fort St. George, San Thome Cathedral, Marina Beach and Lord Shiva's Kapaleeshwarar. Later, explore Kalakshetra Cultural Centre. Overnight stay in Chennai.
DAY 3 Chennai - Mahabalipuram (1.5 Hours Drive) - Pondicherry (2 Hours Drive) +
After breakfast, drive to Mahabalipuram which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit Krishna Mandapam, Shore Temple, Five Rathas and Arjuna's Penance. Later, continue the drive to Pondicherry and check-in at the hotel. Overnight stay in Pondicherry.
DAY 4 Pondicherry Sightseeing +
Wake up and have a sumptuous breakfast. After that, get ready to explore the beautiful city of Pondicherry which is known for its French-style streets and calm atmosphere. Visit Auroville and Sri Aurobindo Ashram for a peaceful experience, then go to Promenade Beach to enjoy the sea view. Later, visit Manakula Vinayagar Devasthanam Temple, Gandhi statue and French War Memorial. In the evening, take a walk through the French Colony. Overnight stay in Pondicherry
DAY 5 Pondicherry - Thanjavur (5 to 6 Hours Drive) +
Following breakfast, drive to Thanjavur. On the way, visit the famous Chidambaram Nataraja Temple and explore the sacred temples of Kumbakonam including Sarangpani Temple, Chakrapani Temple, Airavatesvara Temple and Nageswaran Temple. Enjoy the spiritual atmosphere and beautiful temple architecture during the journey. Continue your drive to Thanjavur. On arrival, check-in at the hotel. Overnight stay in Thanjavur.
DAY 6 Thanjavur - Madurai (3 Hours Drive) +
Morning after breakfast, visit Brihadeeswarar Temple which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Thanjavur Palace. Later, drive to Madurai and check-in at the hotel. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Madurai.
DAY 7 Madurai Sightseeing +
After enjoying breakfast, visit the famous Meenakshi Amman Temple, known for its incredible architecture and colorful towers. Spend some time exploring this important religious site. If time permits, visit Thirumalai Nayak Palace and Gandhi Museum. Later, return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Madurai.
DAY 8 Madurai - Munnar (4 to 5 Hours Drive) +
Have a delicious breakfast and check from the hotel. Drive to Munnar which is a beautiful hill station known for green valleys and tea plantations. En route, see Cheeyappara and Valara waterfalls. Upon arrival, check into the hotel and relax. In the evening, enjoy a Kathakali dance show. Overnight stay in Munnar.
DAY 9 Munnar Sightseeing +
Post breakfast, explore the beautiful sights of Munnar. Visit Tea Museum to learn about the famous tea plantations of this region, followed by Mattupetty Dam and Echo Point which is known for the scenic surroundings. Later, explore Eravikulam National Park (if time permits) and enjoy stunning views from Top Station. Spend the day surrounded by rolling hills, lush tea gardens and natural beauty. Overnight stay in Munnar.
DAY 10 Munnar - Periyar (4 Hours Drive) +
After breakfast, drive to Thekkady, famous for its wildlife and spice plantations. Visit the spice plantation and enjoy a cultural show (optional). Overnight stay in Periyar.
DAY 11 Periyar +
Have a delicious breakfast and get ready for Periyar wildlife experience. Enjoy a boat ride on Periyar Lake (own cost) where you may spot deer, elephants, wild boars and a variety of birds along the lake shore. Later, you can choose to enjoy a jeep safari or elephant ride (both at an additional cost). Periyar is one of the most popular wildlife destinations of Kerala and home to many animals and bird species such as great Malabar hornbill, Kingfisher & more. You may also enjoy activities such as bamboo rafting and jungle walks on direct payment basis. Later, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
DAY 12 Periyar - Alleppey (4 Hours Drive) +
After breakfast, drive to Alleppey and board a traditional houseboat at 12 noon. Enjoy a relaxing cruise through the serene backwaters, passing coconut groves, villages and scenic landscapes. In the evening, enjoy tea and snacks onboard, followed by dinner. Overnight stay in the houseboat.

Note: The houseboat cruise operates from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. After that, the houseboat will remain anchored at one location for the night as per government regulations.
DAY 13 Alleppey - Cochin (2 Hours Drive) +
Enjoy your breakfast and then drive to Cochin. On arrival, enjoy a sightseeing tour of this historic port city. Visit the popular Chinese Fishing Nets, Dutch Palace, St. Francis Church, Jew Town, Mattancherry and Jewish Synagogue. Explore the city's unique blend of colonial heritage, culture and local life. Later, check-in at the hotel and overnight stay in Cochin.
DAY 14 Cochin Departure +
In the morning, have you breakfast and check-out from the hotel. Later, transfer to the airport for your onward journey with beautiful memories of Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

We booked a trip to Ladakh based on positive reviews on tripadvisor. It was a personal 7 nights 8 days trip. They asked us our preferences and came up with an itinerary and price with 3 or 4 star hotel options. The trip included leh, pangong tso, shyok,nubra valley, turtuk, alchi and travelling through high altitude snowy passes khardungla and changla and kargil (we added kargil). We went late june early july. It was beautiful and flowers were starting to come up, and also snowmelts. A bit scary in shyok as the road in places disappeared and we drove over stones and through water for a few kilometres. We saw marmot, wild donkey and free horses, yak and several birds. The mountains are majestic. The altitude does make you a bit breathless, none of us had any health condition and we felt it. Our local contact in leg provided by traeminent tours advised us on altitude sickness and he emphasised several times on contacting him if we ever felt unfortable beyond the usual symptoms, how much and when to sleep. We followed his instructions carefully. We also took diomax for tge altitude breathlessness the first night which helped but it makes you thirsty and gives you a headache so we stopped taking it after. For our stay in Pangong tso our Leh person Gurmeet told us to take an oxygen cylinder reason being its higher altitude and there are no hospitals. An oxygen cylinder has 3 hours worth of oxygen should you need to drive to a hospital. We considered the Rs 2,500 an insurance and we did feel more breathless at pangong. While we could have managed without oxygen the oxygen did help ease the tightness in our chest (maybe coming from hot humid sea level singapore we took probably longer to adapt). We chose the 3 star option and did not regret it. Most cases the rooms were spacious and had great views. At pangong tso we asked to upgrade to a room with a view for an additional Rs 6.6k per person we were 3, sharing a room so we paid Rs 19.8k we felt was steep but were told taxes are high and dinner was included. Our Rs 51k per person for the trip included an excellent calm careful and informative driver Jimme and a sturdy spacious vehicle, breakfast and in two places dinner. Jimme's playlist is also great so after our trip we asked him for it. We saw beautiful monastries at Alchi, Lamayuru, Diskit, moonland the impressive Indus, Shyok and Suru rivers which we drove along. Jagmohan our tour coordinator was helpful and accommodating of our requests to add Kargil. Over all an excellent trip and we were glad we chose Traeminent.  July, 2026

It's was a pleasant trip. 6 days and 5 nights - 3 couple. Cover kochi, Kollam and alappuzha boat house. The driver was good and helpful.
