Key Experiences at Our Varanasi Sightseeing Tour

Here’s what you can expect from our Varanasi sightseeing tour along with visit to Sarnath:

  • Kashi Vishwanath Temple: It is one of the most important temples of Lord Shiva. Devotees from across India visit here to pray and seek blessings. This temple is nestled in the narrow lanes of the old city and offers a strong spiritual feeling.
  • Tulsi Manas Temple: Tulsi Manas Temple is connected to Goswami Tulsidas who wrote the Ramcharitmanas. You can see the verses from Ramayana are written on the walls of this temple. It is a clean and calm place where visitors can spend quiet time. This temple allows travelers to feel connected with history and devotion.
  • Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple: This famous temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman and it is believed to remove obstacles. Many local people visit daily to pray for strength and protection. During Varanasi sightseeing, Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple is an important stop.
  • Dashashwamedh Ghat: Dashashwamedh Ghat is the main and most vibrant ghat in Banaras. It is always full of activity with pilgrims, priests and visitors. This ghat represents the daily life and traditions of the city. Dashashwamedh Ghat becomes more magical in the evening when the Ganga Aarti takes place here.
  • Manikarnika Ghat: This ghat is one of the most sacred cremation ghats in India. Manikarnika Ghat symbolizes the belief in the cycle of life and death. Many travelers come here to learn the spiritual meaning of Varanasi.
  • Ganga Aarti: The evening Ganga Aarti is a beautiful prayer ceremony performed on the banks of the River Ganges. Priests hold large lamps and chant mantras while people watch with devotion. The sound of bells and the view of glowing lamps create a magical and memorable spiritual experience.
  • Boat Ride: A sunrise boat ride on the Ganga is one of the best experiences of our 3-day tour. Early morning views are calm and stunning. You can see people taking holy dips, offering prayers and performing rituals along the ghats.
  • Ashoka Pillar: Ashoka Pillar is a historic pillar which was built by Emperor Ashoka. The Lion Capital found here is now the national emblem of India. It is an important symbol of the rich history of India and a must-visit place during your Sarnath tour.
  • Dhamek Stupa: This large stupa marks the place where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon. The structure of Dhamek Stupa is simple but meaningful. Many travelers sit quietly here to meditate and enjoy the calm surroundings of Sarnath.
  • Chaukhandi Stupa: Chaukhandi Stupa is believed to be the place where Buddha met his first follower. This stupa stands tall and reflects the beginning of Buddhism. It is a peaceful site and offers a clear view of the surrounding area.
  • Digambar Jain Temple: This beautiful Jain temple displays the religious harmony of the region. Digambar Jain Temple is clean and peaceful which makes it a pleasant place to visit.
  • Monasteries: Sarnath has several monasteries which were built by countries like Japan, Tibet and Thailand. Each monastery has unique designs and calm surroundings. Here, you can walk around and enjoy the quiet environment.

Right Time to Begin Your Spiritual Journey

The best time to plan your Varanasi and Sarnath trip is from November to February when the weather is pleasant. These months are ideal for temple visits, boat rides and sightseeing. Another good time is from April to May. Although it can be warm, the city is less crowded as compared to peak winter months. Early morning and evening sightseeing is comfortable during this period. Monsoon season brings greenery and fresh air but heavy rains may affect boat rides.

What Our Travellers Say

View All Reviews

We booked a trip to Ladakh based on positive reviews on tripadvisor. It was a personal 7 nights 8 days trip. They asked us our preferences and came up with an itinerary and price with 3 or 4 star hotel options. The trip included leh, pangong tso, shyok, nubra valley, turtuk, alchi and travelling through high altitude snowy passes khardungla and changla and kargil (we added kargil). We went late june early july. It was beautiful and flowers were starting to come up, and also snowmelts. A bit scary in shyok as the road in places disappeared and we drove over stones and through water for a few kilometres. We saw marmot, wild donkey and free horses, yak and several birds. The mountains are majestic. The altitude does make you a bit breathless, none of us had any health condition and we felt it. Our local contact in leg provided by traeminent tours advised us on altitude sickness and he emphasised several times on contacting him if we ever felt unfortable beyond the usual symptoms, how much and when to sleep. We followed his instructions carefully. We also took diomax for tge altitude breathlessness the first night which helped but it makes you thirsty and gives you a headache so we stopped taking it after. For our stay in Pangong tso our Leh person Gurmeet told us to take an oxygen cylinder reason being its higher altitude and there are no hospitals. An oxygen cylinder has 3 hours worth of oxygen should you need to drive to a hospital. We considered the Rs 2,500 an insurance and we did feel more breathless at pangong. While we could have managed without oxygen the oxygen did help ease the tightness in our chest (maybe coming from hot humid sea level singapore we took probably longer to adapt). We chose the 3 star option and did not regret it. Most cases the rooms were spacious and had great views. At pangong tso we asked to upgrade to a room with a view for an additional Rs 6.6k per person we were 3, sharing a room so we paid Rs 19.8k we felt was steep but were told taxes are high and dinner was included. Our Rs 51k per person for the trip included an excellent calm careful and informative driver Jimme and a sturdy spacious vehicle, breakfast and in two places dinner. Jimme's playlist is also great so after our trip we asked him for it. We saw beautiful monastries at Alchi, Lamayuru, Diskit, moonland the impressive Indus, Shyok and Suru rivers which we drove along. Jagmohan our tour coordinator was helpful and accommodating of our requests to add Kargil. Over all an excellent trip and we were glad we chose Traeminent.  July, 2026

We recently completed a tour to Kashmir, Amritsar, Shimla, and Manali organised by Traeminent, and it was truly a fantastic experience from start to finish. The itinerary was very well planned, allowing us to comfortably explore each destination without feeling rushed. Kashmir was absolutely breathtaking — from the serene Dal Lake to the stunning landscapes of Gulmarg. The houseboat stay was a highlight. Amritsar added a spiritual dimension to the trip, with a seamless visit to the Golden Temple and Wagah Border. Shimla and Manali were equally memorable, offering beautiful mountain views, enjoyable local experiences, and well-coordinated sightseeing. The toy train ride in Shimla and the overall hill station experience were particularly special. The logistics throughout the trip were handled efficiently, transport was comfortable, hotels were well chosen, and the support from the Traeminent team was consistent and dependable. We always felt well taken care of. Overall, it was a smooth, enjoyable, and memorable journey. I would highly recommend Traeminent to anyone looking for a well-organised and enriching travel experience.
