Our 11 nights 12 days tour to Northeast India is planned in a simple and comfortable way so you can travel without stress. This journey starts from Bagdogra and continues to Darjeeling, Pelling, Gangtok, Lachung and Kalimpong. Each place has its own charm. From the tea gardens of Darjeeling, calm mountain scenery of Pelling, lively monasteries of Gangtok to the quiet village of Lachung. Kalimpong is a perfect destination for relaxing in a calm setting. Darjeeling

Darjeeling is one of the popular hill stations in India. It is known for its tea gardens, cool weather and beautiful mountain views. You will visit Tiger Hill to see a mesmerizing sunrise and explore Ghoom Monastery & Batasia Loop. Other attractions include P.N. Zoological Park, Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Centre, Japanese Temple, Tea Garden, Ropeway and Himalayan Mountaineering Institute. Walking through the markets and enjoying fresh air is a lovely experience.

Pelling

In Sikkim, Pelling is a quiet and scenic place which is ideal for people who love peace and nature. It offers amazing views of the Kanchenjunga mountains and has a relaxed atmosphere. You will visit Rimbi Waterfalls, Darap Village, Khecheopalri Lake and Kanchenjunga waterfalls. Along with this, explore Rabdentse Ruins, Pemayangtse Monastery and Helipad ground which was built recently. Since it is less crowded, Pelling is a great place to unwind and enjoy some quiet time.

Gangtok

Gangtok is the capital of Sikkim and a lively hill town. It offers a mix of natural beauty and modern lifestyle. You will enjoy a full day sightseeing tour covering Ganesh Tok, Institute of Tibetology, Tashi view point, Hanuman Tok, Do Drul Chorten, Flower Show, Banjhakri Falls, Enchey Monastery and Cottage Industry & Handicraft Centre. Nearby, you will visit the serene Tsomgo Lake which is a beautiful glacial lake surrounded by mountains and Baba Mandir which is a peaceful shrine with a touching local legend. Gangtok offers you both sightseeing opportunities and comfortable stay in the mountains.

Lachung

Lachung is a small village located in North Sikkim surrounded by mountains, rivers and waterfalls. This village is quiet and perfect for relaxing. Visit Naga Waterfall, confluence of Lachen Chu and Lachung Chu rivers and Bhim Nala Waterfall. The fresh air and natural beauty make it a refreshing stop during your journey.

Kalimpong

Kalimpong is a calm and peaceful hill station known for its greenery and relaxed environment. It is famous for its flower nurseries, scenic views and peaceful surroundings. Here, you will visit Deolo Hill, Mangal Dham, Dr. Graham’s Home, Golf Course, Pine View Nursery and Durpin Dara Hill. Kalimpong is less crowded which makes it a perfect place to relax before the journey ends.

Day by Day

Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1 IXB Airport – Darjeeling (70 Kms / Approx 03 Hrs. Drive) +

Our representative will meet and greet you at the Airport followed by straight transfer to Darjeeling (6,950 ft.). On arrival, check-in at the hotel. Spend rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel in Darjeeling.

DAY 2 Dazzling Darjeeling +

Wake up for an early Morning drive (at 04:00 am) to Tiger hill (8,400 ft.). Capture the pristine glimpses of sunrise over Mt. Khangchendzongha (28,208 ft.)- World’s 3rd highest mountain peak. Drive back to hotel. En-route, visit the Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop. Return to hotel for breakfast. Post a little relaxation, start with a full-day sightseeing of Darjeeling. You will visit the following attractions: Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, P.N. Zoological Park (Thursday closed), Tenzing Rock, Tibetan Refugee self-help Centre (Sunday closed), Tea Garden (outer view), Ropeway and Japanese Temple. Go for an evening shopping tour or relax at the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in Darjeeling.

DAY 3 Darjeeling – Pelling (74 Kms / Approx 03 Hrs 30 Mint. Drive) +

After breakfast, check out for the hotel. Drive to Pelling (6,300 ft.). Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in Pelling.

DAY 4 Pretty Pelling +

After breakfast, start with full day sightseeing of Pelling. The 1st Half day tour cover Darap village, Rimbi water Falls, Khecheopalri Lake & Khangchendzongha waterfalls. The 2nd Half day tour includes Pemayangtse Monastery, Rabdantse Ruins and the newly built Helipad Ground. Overnight stay at hotel in Pelling.

DAY 5 Pelling – Gangtok (134 Kms / Approx 04 Hrs 30 Mint. Drive) +

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Gangtok (5,500 ft.). En-route, visit Temi Tea Garden, Samdruptse & Siddheshwar Dham (Chardham) in Namchi. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel. Spend day at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel in Gangtok.

DAY 6 Gorgeous Gangtok +

Your day begins with a full-day Gangtok city tour covering Tashi view point, Ganesh Tok, Hanuman Tok, Flower show, Cottage Industry and Handicraft Centre, Institute of Tibetology, Dro-dul Chorten, Enchey Monastery and Banjakhri Falls. Overnight stay at hotel in Gangtok.

DAY 7 Day excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir +

After breakfast, transfer to the fresh saline water Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft.) and the Baba Mandir (13,200 ft.) located in close proximity. Overnight stay at hotel in Gangtok. (In case of Land slide or any other reason Tsomgo Lake is closed we will provide alternate sightseeing.)

DAY 8 Gangtok-Lachung (116 Kms / Approx 05 Hrs. Drive) +

After breakfast, check out from hotel and drive to Lachung (8,700 ft.) via a photography session at the on-route spots and attractions like Naga Waterfall, the Confluence of Lachen Chu (River) & Lachung Chu (River) at Chungthang and Bhim Nala Waterfall. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel. Spend day at leisure and settle for dinner at the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in Lachung.

DAY 9 Lachung-Yumthang Valley Excursion +

After breakfast, drive to Yumthang Valley famous as the Valley of Flowers (12,000 ft.). On way back, visit the popular Hot Springs whose waters are believed to have medicinal properties. Continue drive to hotel Overnight stay at hotel in Lachung.

DAY 10 Lachung-Gangtok(116 Kms / Approx 05 Hrs. Drive) +

After breakfast, check out from the hotel for drive to Gangtok (5,500 ft.). On the way, enjoy the vews of the mighty Mighty Khangchendzonga mountains from Singhik view point (on a clear sky day). Continue drive to Gangtok and on arrival, check-in at the hotel. Spend day at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel in Gangtok.

DAY 11 Gangtok-Kalimpong (75 Kms / Approx 03 Hrs. Drive) Sightseeing +

Settle for morning breakfast, check-out at the hotel for drive tp Kalimpong (3,950 ft.). On arrival, check in to your hotel. In Afternoon, visit Mangal Dham, Deolo Hills, Dr. Graham’s Home, Golf Garden, Durpin Dara Hill & Pine View Nursery back to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in Kalimpong.

DAY 12 Kalimpong-NJP Rly Station / IXB airport (70 Kms / Approx 03 Hrs. Drive) +

After breakfast, check-out from hotel followed by departure transfer to NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport for your onward journey

The hotels were great, the plan was good, and the team was in regular contact with me during the tour, which gave me peace of mind. Overall, it all went well. The only thing that bothered me was the time alloted in Gulmarg. I was alloted only half day in Gulmarg, which wasnt sufficient. The highlight of the trip was the driver - Adil. You spend a long time with your driver and having a good (or bad) driver makes a lot of difference. Adil went above and beyond to accommodate me in any way possible. Gave that personal touch in every aspect of the travel. Very professional and kept guiding me where possible. Overall a great trip and I would surely recommend my friends and family. LEH, an experience worthy of your time. We engaged the agency services on 7 Days LEH package during our FIRST visit to India at the end of Jul 2023. We are glad that the driver that has been assigned to us is competent. The car utilized was not optimal for such rough terrain but is spacious to accommodate our big luggage and for us to relax through the ride. LEH is a paradise within India, with spectacular scenery and friendly locals, compared to the main cities. The journey isn't the easiest but worth the while. The driver took care of our safety and was patient with us, as we requested to stop over for photos and videos. However, the biggest setback is that the agency did not pay attention to our request for a quieter room. This was promptly changed after we gave feedback to the Travel Agent which meant that we needed to pack up what we had unpacked, just to move over to the other room Date of experience: July 2023
