Pushkar is a town in Ajmer district the great North Western State, Rajasthan. It lies on the border of the mighty Thar desert. Pushkar has long been a backpacker hangout. It is a pilgrim town famous for its sacred lake surrounded by 400 temples. It is one of India's holiest towns. It houses the one and only temple dedicated to Lord Brahma (the Creator).
