Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1 Arrive Kolkata +

Meet our representative who will pick and transfer you to the hotel. On arrival check in at The Oberoi Grand, which is a luxurious property that has attracted tourists from all walks of life. The hotel has been the icon from many years and is sure to make your stay memorable and worthwhile. With well furnished rooms and amazing service, you can have the time of your life at this hotel. Rest of the day is for leisure. Overnight stay at The Oberoi Grand.

DAY 2 Kolkata city Tour +

Today after breakfast, get ready to explore the city of Kolkata. Head to visit the famous Victoria Memorial, Howrah Bridge, Belur Math, Indian Museum, Birla Planetarium and much more. After the sightseeing tour, return back and overnight stay at The Oberoi Grand.

DAY 3 Kolkata -Flight- Dimapur- Kohima (70 Kms / Approx 03 Hrs Drive) +

Have your breakfast and meet your representative who will transfer you to Kolkata airport. From there board flight Dimapur which is your next destination on this India Tour. On arrival , drive straight towards Kohima- the capital of Nagaland and the home of the Angami tribe of state. check-in at Premium Hotel Oriental Grand with Mini Suite Room in Kohima. Rest of the day is for leisure. Overnight stay at Hotel Oriental Grand.

DAY 4 Kohima- Khonoma- Kohima (20kms / Approx 01 Hr drive) +

Munch in your breakfast, drive to visit the Khonoma – the green village. Khonoma is an Angami-tribe warrior village that is known for its battles with the English and for its leading role in the Naga freedom struggle. In recent years Khonoma has become famous for its community-based conservation projects and eco-friendly tourism initiatives. Return to hotel and Overnight stay at Hotel Oriental Grand

DAY 5 Kohima- Jakhama- Kohima (20 Kms / Approx 01 Hr. Drive) +

After breakfast we will visit the Jakhama Village to witness the multifaceted Naga way of life.

Walk through in the village takes you through paddy fields and the riverbanks where you can watch the Angamis fish and farm in their traditional ways, as they have done for hundreds of generations. As we weave through the village, we stop at local pigsties, fisheries and even a snail farm. Also see walls of houses riddled with bullet marks from World War II. 

During dry season, farming activities may not be demonstrated in literal sense.

Time permitting we will visit the World War Cemetery – constructed in memory of the officers and men who made supreme sacrifices during World War II. On each grave there are beautiful epitaphs engraved in bronze. The famous inscription written on the War Memorial stone reads "WHEN YOU GO HOME TELL THEM OF US AND SAY, FOR YOUR TOMORROW WE GAVE OUR TODAY" and Kohima State Museum - a platform that exhibits the vibrant culture of Nagaland through a collection of fascinating arts and artifacts. It is not only the major attraction of Kohima but also the entire state, because very few landmarks like the State Museum bring to limelight the culture of Nagas and their evolution through stages. Overnight stay at Hotel Oriental Grand

DAY 6 Kohima - Kaziranga National Park (270 kms / Approx 07 Hrs. Drive) +

Have your breakfast at the camp and later drive to Kaziranga National Park . On arrival check in at Diphlu River Lodge is situated on the banks of Diphlu River and is an ideal place where you can spend some time with your loved ones. It is an eco friendly resort where you can enjoy great services and warm hospitality.  Rest of the day is for leisure. Overnight stay at Diphlu River Lodge.

DAY 7 Safari at Kaziranga National Park +

Wake up early today and get ready for morning safari tour at Kaziranga national park. During the safari tour, you will get to see rhino, tiger, leopard, water buffalo and much more. Come back to the camp in the afternoon and enjoy the delicious lunch. In the ven prepare yourself for another safari tour where you will get to see nocturnal animals in their natural habitat. Return back by evening and overnight stay at Diphlu River Lodge.

DAY 8 Kaziranga National Park - Guwahati Airport (212 kms / Approx 05 Hrs. Drive) - Flight - Bagdogra – Darjeeling (67 Kms / Approx 03 Hrs. Drive) +

Today have your breakfast at the camp and leave for the airport. Meet our representative who will transfer you to Guwahati airport and from there board a flight to Bagdogra. On arrival, drive to Darjeeling which is your next stop on this tour. Upon arrival in Darjeeling, check-in at The Glenburn Tea Estate which is the finest retreat situated in Darjeeling. DAY 9 Full day excursion to Mirik Lake and Pashupati Market (Indo-Nepal Border) +

DAY 10 Darjeeling city tour +

After breakfast, head for a sightseeing tour where you will be visiting Tiger Hill, Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop where you will get to see the picturesque beauty of the region. Then head to Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, Himalayan mountaineering institute, Peace Pagoda, Japanese Temple, Tenzing - Gombu Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self Help Centre. Overnight stay at The Glenburn Tea Estate.

DAY 11 Darjeeling +

Morning Nature and bird walks through private forest areas, along river fronts, followed by picnic lunches. Afternoon village walk, hike across suspension bridge, tea tour, tasting session, cookery class. Overnight stay at Glenburn Tea Estate.

DAY 12 Darjeeling -Flight- Kolkata Stay at ITC Royal Bengal. +

Have your breakfast at the hotel and get transferred to the airport. From there board flight to Kolkata. Permit Regulation for Foreign National – Nagaland

Foreign tourists visiting Nagaland must register with the Foreigner’s Registration Officer (FRO) of the District they visit or the nearest Police Station within 24 hours of their arrival. While guest are travelling by air via Dimapur airport, passport & India Visa will be verified on immigration checking, and while the guest are travelling by surface, passport & India Visa will be verified at check post.

We booked a trip to Ladakh based on positive reviews on tripadvisor. It was a personal 7 nights 8 days trip. They asked us our preferences and came up with an itinerary and price with 3 or 4 star hotel options. The trip included leh, pangong tso, shyok,nubra valley, turtuk, alchi and travelling through high altitude snowy passes khardungla and changla and kargil (we added kargil). We went late june early july. It was beautiful and flowers were starting to come up, and also snowmelts. A bit scary in shyok as the road in places disappeared and we drove over stones and through water for a few kilometres. We saw marmot, wild donkey and free horses, yak and several birds. The mountains are majestic. The altitude does make you a bit breathless, none of us had any health condition and we felt it. Our local contact in leg provided by traeminent tours advised us on altitude sickness and he emphasised several times on contacting him if we ever felt unfortable beyond the usual symptoms, how much and when to sleep. We followed his instructions carefully. We also took diomax for tge altitude breathlessness the first night which helped but it makes you thirsty and gives you a headache so we stopped taking it after. For our stay in Pangong tso our Leh person Gurmeet told us to take an oxygen cylinder reason being its higher altitude and there are no hospitals. An oxygen cylinder has 3 hours worth of oxygen should you need to drive to a hospital. We considered the Rs 2,500 an insurance and we did feel more breathless at pangong. While we could have managed without oxygen the oxygen did help ease the tightness in our chest (maybe coming from hot humid sea level singapore we took probably longer to adapt). We chose the 3 star option and did not regret it. Most cases the rooms were spacious and had great views. At pangong tso we asked to upgrade to a room with a view for an additional Rs 6.6k per person we were 3, sharing a room so we paid Rs 19.8k we felt was steep but were told taxes are high and dinner was included. Our Rs 51k per person for the trip included an excellent calm careful and informative driver Jimme and a sturdy spacious vehicle, breakfast and in two places dinner. Jimme's playlist is also great so after our trip we asked him for it. We saw beautiful monastries at Alchi, Lamayuru, Diskit, moonland the impressive Indus, Shyok and Suru rivers which we drove along. Jagmohan our tour coordinator was helpful and accommodating of our requests to add Kargil. Over all an excellent trip and we were glad we chose Traeminent.  July, 2026
