Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1 Arrival Negombo- Dambulla (128 Kms / Approx 03 Hrs 30 Mint. Drive) +

Arrive at Bandaranaike International airport where you will be warmly greeted and later transfer to the booked hotel in Dambulla. Check into the hotel and rest of the day is for leisure. Overnight stay at Dambulla.

DAY 2 Dambulla - Sigiriya - Polonaruwa -Dambulla (174 Kms / Approx 02 Hrs. One Way Drive) +

After breakfast, head to climb Sigiriya rock fortress which is considered to be a World Heritage Site. It is a 5th century rock citadel of King Kasyapa and is a popular tourist attraction in Sri Lanka. Proceed to step through the huge Lion Paws that overlooks the symmetrical royal gardens. You will come across ramparts and frescoes that are related to the Gupta style paintings that resemble those in Ajanta Caves. Continue your tour to the well fabricated museum where you will get to know how the citadel floated above citizens with castle. While climbing the fortress quench your thirst by drinking coconut water and afterwards proceed to visit Polonnaruwa city which is approximately 1.5 hours away. Polonnaruwa is a medieval capital and crown jewel of King Parakramabahu I. Take a stroll across the scattered walls of the heritage site that houses stupas, resting Buddha statues, irrigation canals and carved Hindu sculptures. See the realic house of Watadage that boast of beautiful stone carvings. Take a view at the architecture and statues that are found in this ancient city. Later return back to the hotel for overnight stay at Dambulla.

DAY 3 Dambulla- Hiriwadunna - Dambulla (20 Kms / Approx 30 Mint. One Way Drive) +

After breakfast visit Dambulla Cave Temple which is a huge isolated rock mass which is 500 feet high. The temple showcases the rich culture of Buddhism and is a must visit destination for your Sri Lanka Tour. From here, you will proceed to Hiriwaduna village where you will experience Sri Lankan cooking demo followed by lunch. Take a scenic walk through the village and with the help of a farmer pick fresh vegetables and join in the preparation of cooking food. Your journey will continue through dense shrub forests, amazing wildlife etc. Late return back to Dambulla for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 4 Dambulla- Mineriya -Kandy (174 Kms / Approx 04 Hrs 30 Mint. Drive) +

Enjoy your breakfast and head to Minneriya National Park which is a famous safari destination for wildlife enthusiast. Famous for its large population of elephants, this national park has attracted tourists from all over the world. Enjoy 4X4 jeep safari and spot animals like Wild Boar, Sloth Bear, crocodiles, wild elephants, jackals, 25 kinds of reptiles, 160 bird species, and 9 amphibians’ varieties. Travel to Kandy afterwards and on arrival, check into the hotel. On arrival, head to visit Temple of the sacred tooth relic. It is a Buddhist temple situated in royal complex of the former kingdom of Kandy that houses the relic of the tooth of Buddha. This relic has played an important role since ancient times and is a must visit attraction during your tour to Sri Lanka. Today, you will be heading for sightseeing tour of Kandy where you will be visiting some of the well known places like a gem museum, shopping bazaars, Victoria Golf Course etc. In the evening, enjoy the cultural dance show that features numerous dance types of Sri Lanka. DAY 5 Kandy - Nuwara Eliya (78 Kms / Approx 03 Hrs. Drive) +

Enjoy delicious breakfast at the hotel and check out from the hotel and proceed to enjoy cookery demonstration in Kandy. The cuisine of Sri Lanka is known to be the spiciest and hottest cuisine in the world. Add more fun to your tour by knowing how Sri Lankan cuisine is prepared with the help of friendly instructor. Later proceed to Nuwara Eliya which is approximately 3 hours drive from Kandy. While on the way make a detour of tea plantation and tea factory. On arrival at Nuwara Eliya, check into the hotel and rest for a while. Proceed for afternoon city tour of Nuwara Eliya where you will be exploring the city which is a perfect example of British colonial retreat. Hike through the green grass and red brick walls that showcase the stunning views of a beautiful countryside.

DAY 6 Nuwara Eliya - Udawalawe (154 Kms / Approx 04 Hrs 30 Mint. Drive) +

Munch in your breakfast and proceed to Udawalawave national park which is one of the popular attractions of Sri Lanka. Famous for its large population of elephants, this national park has attracted tourists from all over the world. Enjoy 4X4 jeep safari and spot animals like Wild Boar, Sloth Bear, crocodiles, wild elephants, jackals, 25 kinds of reptiles, 160 bird species, and 9 amphibians’ varieties. After the safari tour, return to Udawalawe for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 7 Udawalawe - Sinharaja (81 Kms / Approx 03 Hrs. Drive) +

Today after breakfast head to Sinharaja rain forest which is approximately 3 hours away from Udawalawe. On arrival, head to visit Sinharaja Rain Forest which is considered to be the World Heritage Site with a very high rate of bio diversity. During your tour you will come across various animal species like snakes, birds, fishes, butterflies etc. The best time to visit the rainforest is from the month of December to early April and from August to September. Overnight stay at Sinharaja.

DAY 8 Sinharaja - Negombo Airport Drop Departure +
Tour will come to an end with your departure to the International airport for your onward flight.

We booked a trip to Ladakh based on positive reviews on tripadvisor. It was a personal 7 nights 8 days trip. They asked us our preferences and came up with an itinerary and price with 3 or 4 star hotel options. The trip included leh, pangong tso, shyok,nubra valley, turtuk, alchi and travelling through high altitude snowy passes khardungla and changla and kargil (we added kargil). We went late june early july. It was beautiful and flowers were starting to come up, and also snowmelts. A bit scary in shyok as the road in places disappeared and we drove over stones and through water for a few kilometres. We saw marmot, wild donkey and free horses, yak and several birds. The mountains are majestic. The altitude does make you a bit breathless, none of us had any health condition and we felt it. Our local contact in leg provided by traeminent tours advised us on altitude sickness and he emphasised several times on contacting him if we ever felt unfortable beyond the usual symptoms, how much and when to sleep. We followed his instructions carefully. We also took diomax for tge altitude breathlessness the first night which helped but it makes you thirsty and gives you a headache so we stopped taking it after. For our stay in Pangong tso our Leh person Gurmeet told us to take an oxygen cylinder reason being its higher altitude and there are no hospitals. An oxygen cylinder has 3 hours worth of oxygen should you need to drive to a hospital. We considered the Rs 2,500 an insurance and we did feel more breathless at pangong. While we could have managed without oxygen the oxygen did help ease the tightness in our chest (maybe coming from hot humid sea level singapore we took probably longer to adapt). We chose the 3 star option and did not regret it. Most cases the rooms were spacious and had great views. At pangong tso we asked to upgrade to a room with a view for an additional Rs 6.6k per person we were 3, sharing a room so we paid Rs 19.8k we felt was steep but were told taxes are high and dinner was included. Our Rs 51k per person for the trip included an excellent calm careful and informative driver Jimme and a sturdy spacious vehicle, breakfast and in two places dinner. Jimme's playlist is also great so after our trip we asked him for it. We saw beautiful monastries at Alchi, Lamayuru, Diskit, moonland the impressive Indus, Shyok and Suru rivers which we drove along. Jagmohan our tour coordinator was helpful and accommodating of our requests to add Kargil. Over all an excellent trip and we were glad we chose Traeminent.  July, 2026

It's was a pleasant trip. 6 days and 5 nights - 3 couple. Cover kochi, Kollam and alappuzha boat house. The driver was good and helpful. All hotel- casino kochi and fragrant nature Kollam was too good. Boathouse experience was great too. The helper Abu in boathouse cooked super fast and delicious food( chicken, prawn,fish and crab). We recently completed a tour to Kashmir, Amritsar, Shimla, and Manali organised by Traeminent, and it was truly a fantastic experience from start to finish.
