Our 16 days India itinerary takes you through some of the most famous and beautiful places in India. You will start this journey from Delhi where you can see a mix of old history and modern city life. From here, you will travel to the spiritual city of Varanasi which is known for its holy rivers and peaceful atmosphere. After Varanasi, you will explore the artistic temples of Khajuraho. These temples are famous for their detailed carvings and rich history. Then this tour moves towards Agra which is home of the Taj Mahal and many Mughal monuments. Next, this journey continues to the royal cities of Rajasthan like Jaipur, Udaipur and Jodhpur. Each city has its own beauty, culture and history. Delhi

Delhi is the starting point of this 16-day tour. It is a place where old history and modern life exist together. You will visit famous monuments like Raj Ghat, Qutub Minar, India Gate, Jama Masjid, Lotus Temple, Rashtrapati Bhawan and Parliament House. You will walk to Fatehpuri Masjid and enjoy a rickshaw ride till Red Fort. In the evening, visit Akshardham Temple to enjoy the amazing Water Fountain show. This city also has busy markets where you can shop for street food, clothes and souvenirs. Delhi is full of energy and offers an exciting start to this journey.

Varanasi

Varanasi is one of the oldest living cities in the world and very important for spirituality. Tourists come here to see the holy River Ganges and attend the evening Ganga Aarti. A morning boat ride on the river feels very peaceful. Explore the famous ghats including Manikarnika Ghat and Chausathi Ghat. You will also visit Sarnath where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon. See Dhamekh stupas, Chaukhandi and Dharmarajika here. Attend evening aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat for a magical experience. Khajuraho

Agra

Best Time to Experience This North India Journey

The perfect time to plan this 16-day north India trip is from October to March. The weather during these months is cool and pleasant which makes sightseeing easy. This season is also ideal to plan a 10 days itinerary for Madhya Pradesh. Summers can be very hot, especially in cities like Agra, Jaipur and Jodhpur so they are not ideal. Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1 Arrive Delhi +
Arrive in Delhi and meet our representative or driver at the airport. Transfer to your hotel, check-in, freshen up, and relax.

Note: Hotel check-in is normally at 2:00 PM, but we will request early check-in. If the room is ready, you may get it by 12:00 PM.
DAY 2 Delhi Sightseeing +
After breakfast, hear for Delhi sightseeing tour. Visit Jama Masjid which is India’s largest mosque, then explore Chandni Chowk which is the oldest and biggest market in Old Delhi. Walk to Fatehpuri Masjid and enjoy a rickshaw ride till Red Fort. Here, you will meet with our driver who will take you to Rajghat. It is a memorial of Mahatma Gandhi and see the eternal flame. Drive past Rashtrapati Bhawan, Parliament House and India Gate, then visit Qutub Minar and Lotus Temple. In the evening, visit Akshardham Temple and enjoy the Water Fountain Show. Overnight stay in Delhi.
DAY 3 Delhi - Khajuraho (By Train) +
Have breakfast and transfer to Delhi railway station for the Vande Bharat Express to Khajuraho (06:00 AM–14:20 PM). On arrival, meet the representative and transfer to your hotel. Check-in, relax and overnight stay in Khajuraho.
DAY 4 Khajuraho Sightseeing & Safari +
After breakfast, explore Western and Eastern groups of temples which are famous for their intricate carvings & architecture. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a safari at Panna National Park in a shared canter. Return to the hotel to relax. Overnight stay in Khajuraho.
DAY 5 Khajuraho - Varanasi (By Train) +
Enjoy a delicious breakfast and check out from the hotel to visit local markets in Khajuraho. In the afternoon, transfer to the railway station and board the Vande Bharat Express to Varanasi (15:20 PM–23:10 PM). On arrival, meet the representative, transfer to your hotel and check-in. Relax and overnight stay in Varanasi.
DAY 6 Varanasi Sightseeing +
Start early with the Mangala Aarti at the Ganga and enjoy a boat ride. This boat tour will take you to various ghats of Varanasi like Manikarnika Ghat and Chausathi Ghat. Return to the hotel for breakfast, then visit Sarnath which is the sacred place where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon. Explore Dharmarajika, Chaukhandi and Dhamekh stupas. In the evening, enjoy mesmerizing Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat. Overnight stay in Varanasi.
DAY 7 Varanasi - Agra (By Train) +
Enjoy a hearty breakfast and check out from the hotel to visit local markets on your own. Around 14:00 PM, transfer to the railway station for the Vande Bharat Express to Agra (15:20 PM–22:20 PM). On arrival, meet the representative and transfer to your hotel. Check-in and overnight stay in Agra.
DAY 8 Agra Sightseeing +
Early morning, visit the iconic Taj Mahal to enjoy the sunrise over this famous symbol of love. This white marble mausoleum was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Return to the hotel for breakfast, then visit Agra Fort, Itimad-ud-Daulah's Tomb and Mehtab Bagh. Spend the evening exploring local markets. Overnight stay in Agra.
DAY 9 Agra - Fatehpur Sikri - Jaipur +
Wake up and have your breakfast. Get ready to check out from the hotel and drive to Jaipur. On the way, visit Fatehpur Sikri which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site showcasing a blend of Hindu and Islamic architecture. Continue your drive to Jaipur. On arrival, check-in at the hotel and relax. Overnight stay in Jaipur.
DAY 10 Jaipur Sightseeing +
Have your breakfast and then head for Jaipur sightseeing tour. We will visit Amber Fort which is a stunning fort set on a hill and known for its royal charm and history. Inside the fort, explore Jag Mandir, also known as the Victory Hall and admire the beautiful Sheesh Mahal which is famous for its sparkling mirror work on the walls & ceilings. Later, continue this city tour. Visit the City Palace which was once the residence of the Maharaja, where one part is now a museum and the other is still home to the royal family. Next, explore Jantar Mantar, a UNESCO-listed site and the largest stone observatory in the world. Make a quick photo stop at Hawa Mahal which is also known as the Palace of Winds. In the evening, spend some free time in the local markets of Jaipur to shop for jewelry, textiles, and handicrafts. Overnight stay in Jaipur.

DAY 11 Jaipur - Udaipur via Pushkar +
Enjoy breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Udaipur, the City of Lakes. En route, visit Pushkar and see attractions including the Brahma Temple and Sacred Tank. Continue drive to Udaipur. On arrival, check in at the hotel and relax. Overnight stay in Udaipur.
DAY 12 Udaipur Sightseeing +
After breakfast, start your day by visiting the City Palace and admire its beautiful rooms with mirror work, ivory doors, colored glass windows, marble balconies and the peacock courtyard. Then visit Saheliyon ki Bari which is a peaceful garden made for royal ladies, followed by Jagdish Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Gulab Bagh. Next, explore the Bhartiya Lok Kala Museum, where you can see traditional dresses, ornaments, puppets, masks and dolls. In the evening, enjoy a relaxing boat ride on the famous Lake Pichola. Overnight stay in Udaipur.
DAY 13 Udaipur - Jodhpur via Ranakpur +
Have breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Jodhpur. En route, visit Ranakpur, where you will explore Jain Temple with 1,444 intricately carved pillars and the nearby Sun Temple. Continue your drive to Jodhpur, check in at the hotel and relax. Overnight stay in Jodhpur.
DAY 14 Jodhpur Sightseeing +
Wake up and enjoy your breakfast. Get ready to visit the majestic Mehrangarh Fort which is a grand fort built on a high cliff with beautiful red sandstone walls and amazing city views. Then visit Jaswant Thada which is a peaceful marble monument with fine carvings. Continue to Umaid Bhawan Palace, one of the largest royal palaces. Later, return to the hotel and relax. Overnight stay in Jodhpur.
DAY 15 Jodhpur - Delhi (By Train) +
Early morning, transfer to the railway station for the Vande Bharat Express to Delhi (05:30 AM–13:30 PM). On arrival, meet the representative and transfer to the hotel. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel and spend the day at leisure. Overnight stay in Delhi.
DAY 16 Departure from Delhi +
After sumptuous breakfast, check out from the hotel. Then transfer to the airport for your onward flight. Your North & Central India tour ends here.

We have just returned from a trip to Arangabad, Hampi and Badami. I found TraEminent on Trustpilot and whatsapped them and got an immediate reply from Sunny, who listened to what we wanted to do then passed us to his colleague Prachi to organise our trip. Prachi sent suggestions of different hotels and also suggested we added Badami to our itinery, which was an excellent suggestion. She organised hotels, drivers, guides and internal flights. Our hotel vouchers and internal flight bar codes were sent to us via email. We paid for the trip in 3 installments, the final one being on the day we arrivec in India. Our contact once the trip was organised and whilst we were in India was Mukesh. Prachi also created a group Whatsapp for herself, Mukesh, my husband and myself. As the holiday neared the war in Iran started and up until the day we travelled we were not sure we would be able to travel and Mukesh was excellent in starting to secure refunds and vouchers. But fortunately on the day we were able to travel, although due to late setting off and extra travel time we missed our connection from Delhi to Aurangabad and had to travel early the next morning. I contacted Mukesh who rearranged the pickup from the airport. Mukesk kept in contact with us daily for the duration of the trip and informed us of each drivers and car details the day before the pick up. We had 2 drivers, Aleem for Aurangabad and Ram for Hampi and Badami, both were excellent and the cars were comfortable. Our guides were excellent and very knowledgeable. The hotels were exactley what we wanted and the intetnal flights with Indigo were ideal time wise. We had the best 10 day tour. Thank you TraEminent for you help, patience and communication. LEH, an experience worthy of your time. We engaged the agency services on 7 Days LEH package during our FIRST visit to India at the end of Jul 2023. We are glad that the driver that has been assigned to us is competent. The car utilized was not optimal for such rough terrain but is spacious to accommodate our big luggage and for us to relax through the ride. LEH is a paradise within India, with spectacular scenery and friendly locals, compared to the main cities. The journey isn't the easiest but worth the while. The driver took care of our safety and was patient with us, as we requested to stop over for photos and videos. However, the biggest setback is that the agency did not pay attention to our request for a quieter room. This was promptly changed after we gave feedback to the Travel Agent which meant that we needed to pack up what we had unpacked, just to move over to the other room Date of experience: July 2023

Field hockey World Cup in Bhubaneswar Odisha. A very well organised trip to watch the world Cup. Hotel was good with short distance to the stadium. We had a group of 11 of us.
