Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1 Mumbai – Arrival +

Welcome to India. Our company representative will receive you on arrival at the Airport. Upon arrival, meet & greet and then transfer to your hotel. Relax for the day. Overnight stay at hotel in Mumbai.

DAY 2 Day Tour in Mumbai +

After breakfast, begin your day with a visit to the famous Elephanta Caves Tour which is a must visit attraction when exploring Mumbai. Elephanta Caves is one of the most beautiful heritage sites in India that has garnered tourists from all across the globe. These spectacular caves showcase the true architecture and heritage of the country. It is considered to be a UNESCO world heritage site and the cave is an assortment of seven caves, Mahes-murti cave being the most important one. A ferry ride from Gateway of India to the Elephanta Island will take approximately an hour and also takes the travelers through the hidden world of rock cut caves. Witness the beautiful carvings that boast of Shaivite sculptures and capture the best shot in your camera. After the tour, return back to the city and visit the Cobala Market, Chor Bazaar to do some shopping. Overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 3 Mumbai to Aurangabad (Train) – City tour of Aurangabad +

Have your breakfast and get ready to leave for Aurangabad. Board the train from Mumbai to Aurangabad which will take approximately 6-7 hours. Upon arriving there, meet our travel representative who will transfer you to the hotel. Check in to your room and rest for a while. Later get ready to visit Aurangabad Caves and Bibi ka Maqbara. Aurangabad Caves are major attraction that defines the true culture and heritage of India. These caves dates back to the 6th and the 8th century and is carved out of soft Basalt Rock. If you are a history buff, these caves are an ideal location for your tour. Then you head to visit Bibi ka Maqbara which looks somewhat similar to the Taj Mahal. It is a mausoleum which was constructed by Aurangzeb in memory of his wife. Make sure you carry your camera along as there are many scenic spots that will leave you awestruck. Return back after your city tour and overnight stay at hotel in Aurangabad.

DAY 4 Aurangabad - Ajanta Caves - Aurangabad (101 Kms / Approx 04 Hrs. One Way Drive) +

Today after your hearty breakfast, get ready to explore the well known site of Ajanta Caves. The drive from Aurangabad to Ajanta Caves takes approximately 3 hours. Situated 99 km from Aurangabad, Ajanta Caves is a famous tourist attraction that should be visited at least once in your lifetime. These Caves are considered to be on the UNESCO world heritage site and has garnered tourists from across the globe. Ajanta caves are famous as it depicts the Buddhist culture and their related stories through numerous paintings and sculptures. A tour to this cave takes the guest to the world of Jatakas. Learn about these sculptures as it showcases the rich culture and heritage of India. End your city tour with your return back to the hotel.

DAY 5 Aurangabad - Ellora Caves - Aurangabad (30 Kms / Approx 01 Hrs. One Way Drive) - Hyderabad (overnight train) +

Munch in your breakfast and check out from the hotel. Proceed to visit Ellora Caves which is another tourist attraction that exhibits the wonderful heritage of the country. Ellora Caves is the ancient rock cut cave temples that showcase temples of Buddhist, Hindu and Jain Temples. The beautiful paintings and carvings still remain in the caves attracting tourists from everywhere. By evening the driver will drop you at Aurangabad railway station and from there you can board train to Hyderabad which will be your next stop on the Heritage of India Tour. Overnight stay in Train.

DAY 6 Alluring Hyderabad +

Arrive at Hyderabad in the morning and meet our guide who will transfer you to your booked hotel. Rest for a while and later get ready to explore the city of Hyderabad. Visit Charminar which is a prominent landmark that should be visited once in a while. Lying in the centre of the city, this monument manages to hold the gaze garnering tourists from all walks of life. Next head to Golconda Fort which is an untouched grandeur of India. The fort was completed in 1600s and still stands as the most eminent monument of the country. The history, the legends, the architecture adds charm to the tour making your tour interesting and worthwhile. Move to Qutub Shahi Tombs which is a collection of small and big group of mosques and tombs replicating the culture and heritage of India. DAY 7 Hyderabad - Hospet (378 Kms / Approx 09 Hrs 30 Mint. Drive) +

Your next day of heritage of India Tour will start with your departure to Hospet which is an 8-9 hour drive from Hyderabad. Upon arrival meet our guide who will transfer you to your booked hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in Hospet.

DAY 8 Hospet - Hampi - Hospet (12 Kms / Approx 30 Mint. One Way Drive) +

Today after breakfast, get ready for Hampi Tour. Head to visit some of the famous places such as Vittala Temple that dates back to the 16th century. It is truly a splendid example of rich architecture making it one of the most famous destinations to visit in Hospet. The well known stone chariot is now the symbol of architecture of Hampi and is situated inside the temple. Then head to Virupaksha Temple which has made it to the UNESCO world heritage site. This temple is domicile to one of the forms of Lord Shiva called Lord Virupaksha. Learn and witness the beautiful architecture of the temple making your heritage tour memorable. Proceed to Hemakuta Hill Temple which houses a temple complex, many of which are dedicated to Lord Shiva. End your tour with a visit to Hampi Archaeological Ruins where you can see the remains of the old fort and structures. DAY 9 Hospet - Chikmagalur (283 Kms / Approx 06 Hrs. Drive) +

Today, your day is planned for Chikmagalur which is your next stop on this tour. Have your breakfast and proceed for Chikmagalur which is a 6 hours drive from Hospet. On arrival head to visit Chennakesava Temple which was built in the 12th century by the Hoysala Ruler. Admire the intricate work of art and sculpture that will take your breath away. Spend the day at leisure and overnight stay at Chikmagalur.

DAY 10 Chikmagalur -Belur (25 Kms / Approx 45 Mint. Drive) - Halebid(16 Kms / Approx 30 Mint. Drive) - Chikmagalur (35 kms / Approx 01 Hrs. Drive) +

Today your day is planned for day tour of Chikmagalur where you will visit places like Belur and Halebid. After breakfast, leave for the day tour and head to visit  Pathaleswara Temple which is one of the oldest temples that was constructed by the Ganga Kings. Then head to Hoysala emblem that represents the victory of King Vishnuvardhana over the Cholas. In the afternoon, visit Hoysaleswara Temple which is a 12th century temple that is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is well known for its architecture and attracts thousands of devotees all year around. Then move towards Kedareshwara Temple that was built in 1319 AD and is dedicated to Lord Shiva as well. Spend your day admiring the beautiful architecture of the temple and make sure you carry your camera along with you. Make your way to Halebidu Archaelogical Site that depicts the history of ancient times. By evening return back to Chikmagalur for overnight stay.

DAY 11 Chikmagalur - Shravanbelagola (114 Kms / Approx 45 Mint. Drive)- Mysore (84 Kms / Approx 02 Hrs 30 Mint. Drive) +

Have breakfast at your hotel and leave for Mysore. Enroute visit Shravanbelagola Jain Temple which is another tourist attraction that should be visited. This temple is an important Jain pilgrimage centre which boasts of Bahubali statue which is the main thing to see. The temple is home to the tall sculpture of Lord Gomateswara and is surrounded by nature all around. Upon arrival in Mysore, check into the hotel and explore the bustling and colourful market. Overnight stay at hotel in Mysore.

DAY 12 Mysore +

After breakfast, proceed for the city tour of Mysore. Well known as the ‘City of Palaces’ Mysore is one of the most colorful places in the country. Begin your city tour with Mysore Palace is a well known attraction that edifies the example of Indo - Saracenic style of architecture. Then head to Chamundeshwari Temple which is dedicated to Goddess of Durga. It is one of the oldest temples and is a must visit attraction in Mysore. Proceed to Chamundi Hills which is considered to be the prime landmark of the city, One of the oldest Mahabaleshwara temple is located atop the Chamundi Hills and is a must visit place when in Mysore. DAY 13 Mysore - Srirangapatnam (18 Kms / Approx 45 Mint. Drive)- Bangalore (128 Kms / Approx 03 Hrs 30 Mint. Drive) +

Today after breakfast, you will leave for Bangalore which is your next stop on this Heritage of India Tour. On the way visit Srirangapatnam, that is known to be a Jain Pilgrimage centre and is home to world’s largest monolith statue of Lord Bahubali. On the other side, you will get to see a small hill of Chandragiri that is also famous for its Jain Temples and the tomb of Chandragupta Maurya. Later, proceed your drive to Bangalore and on arrival check into the hotel. Spend your evening at leisure and overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 14 Bangalore +

Enjoy your delicious breakfast and later proceed for sightseeing tour of Bangalore. We booked a trip to Ladakh based on positive reviews on tripadvisor. It was a personal 7 nights 8 days trip. They asked us our preferences and came up with an itinerary and price with 3 or 4 star hotel options. The trip included leh, pangong tso, shyok,nubra valley, turtuk, alchi and travelling through high altitude snowy passes khardungla and changla and kargil (we added kargil). We went late june early july. It was beautiful and flowers were starting to come up, and also snowmelts. A bit scary in shyok as the road in places disappeared and we drove over stones and through water for a few kilometres. We saw marmot, wild donkey and free horses, yak and several birds. The mountains are majestic. The altitude does make you a bit breathless, none of us had any health condition and we felt it. Our local contact in leg provided by traeminent tours advised us on altitude sickness and he emphasised several times on contacting him if we ever felt unfortable beyond the usual symptoms, how much and when to sleep. We followed his instructions carefully. We also took diomax for tge altitude breathlessness the first night which helped but it makes you thirsty and gives you a headache so we stopped taking it after. For our stay in Pangong tso our Leh person Gurmeet told us to take an oxygen cylinder reason being its higher altitude and there are no hospitals. An oxygen cylinder has 3 hours worth of oxygen should you need to drive to a hospital. We considered the Rs 2,500 an insurance and we did feel more breathless at pangong. While we could have managed without oxygen the oxygen did help ease the tightness in our chest (maybe coming from hot humid sea level singapore we took probably longer to adapt). We chose the 3 star option and did not regret it. Most cases the rooms were spacious and had great views. At pangong tso we asked to upgrade to a room with a view for an additional Rs 6.6k per person we were 3, sharing a room so we paid Rs 19.8k we felt was steep but were told taxes are high and dinner was included. Our Rs 51k per person for the trip included an excellent calm careful and informative driver Jimme and a sturdy spacious vehicle, breakfast and in two places dinner. Jimme's playlist is also great so after our trip we asked him for it. We saw beautiful monastries at Alchi, Lamayuru, Diskit, moonland the impressive Indus, Shyok and Suru rivers which we drove along. Jagmohan our tour coordinator was helpful and accommodating of our requests to add Kargil. Over all an excellent trip and we were glad we chose Traeminent.  July, 2026

It's was a pleasant trip. 6 days and 5 nights - 3 couple. Cover kochi, Kollam and alappuzha boat house. The driver was good and helpful.
